Nunofelt Wall Décor with Shibori Technique
Come join us and learn the art of nunofelting. In this workshop, we will create a nunofelt piece and then learn to incorporate the shibori technique to add more texture and interest. We will also cover adding beads for embellishment. Once completed, we will prepare the piece for framing. The finished piece will be ready to mount in an 11” x 14” frame (not included). Feel free to bring along any small embellishments that you may like to incorporate. The materials provided will be in the same colour scheme as the sample. You will need to bring an old towel, small bucket and a pair of small scissors for cutting thread. Open to all skill levels.

Galerie Belliveau, in collaboration with Le Conseil des Arts de La Baie will offer a 26-hour silkscreen course for all levels. No prior knowledge.
Silk-screen printing is a versatile printing technique that uses silk screens to transfer ink to a variety of media. In this course, you will learn the mechanical and photomechanical processes . In addition to practical exercises, each student will realize a personal project during which he / she will acquire a good knowledge of all the stages allowing silkscreen printing. He / she will create his / her matrices by separating his / her image in layers, carry out the transfer of the films on the silk, the preparation of the colors and finally the impression.
At the end of these 26-hour course, you should be autonomous to realize your own silkscreen images with a comprehensive understanding of the process.
The first 5 one-hour courses will be offered at a distance at the Galerie Le Trécarré , Church Point, on Thursdays May 4, 11 and 18 and June 1 and 8 at 2 pm.
We will complete the course with three teaching days on site with Cassandre Boucher in the art studio of the Conseil des Arts de la Baie, Church Point on June 21st and 23rd from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Carmeon McIntosh attended The Ontario College of
Art and Design where he focussed on experimenting
and inventing new processes and visual effects. He
taught English in Japan in the 1990s and more recently
in Thailand, where he also practiced local art forms. He
works in pastel, batik, Japanese lacquer and
photography, saying “Batik is one of my favourite
